Here’s the updated musher roster for the 2016 Hudson Bay Quest. This year’s race leaves Churchill heading towards Gillam on March 17th…yes St. Patrick’s Day. Let’s hope the luck of the Irish is with the mushers and helps with the weather. As the race draws nearer we will have updates and musher profiles.This year’s race will be another exciting event in the north!

This year’s Hudson Bay Quest will start in Churchill on Thursday March 17th (St. Patty’s Day) and finish in Gillam! Should be quite a celebration with some green beer at the start line. Come to Churchill and see the northern lights and the start of a great race!

These three photos from Alex De Vries – Magnifico in Churchill are fantastic cloud shots over the vast Hudson Bay. The colors in the fall are intense and highlight all the features of the sub – Arctic village. Polar bear season is within a week now so stay close for daily blog posts throughout the season. Should be continuous exciting news from Churchill!

Canada day was just a few weeks ago and part of the festivities is the annual Hudson Bay dip took place in Churchill. The dip is an outpouring of community fun and bravery to enter the 40 degree F water. The year I took part there was still ice floating near shore and the water was exceptionally cold. Extremities become numb almost immediately but the thrill is worth the pain! Enjoy the fun from this 2013 footage!
