Images of Polar Bear Season

For decades Great White Bear Tours has been Natural Habitat’s partner in logistics and providing travelers with access to the most heavily polar bear populated region in North America. The Churchill Wildlife Management Area is where all the incredible polar bear action takes place and Great White Bear Tundra Lodge has been home to lucky Nat Hab travelers for years now during October and November. These photos from GWB wonderfully capture the polar bear season that just finished up in Churchill. Enjoy!

Natural Habitat Adventures Tundra Lodge is positioned perfectly in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area (CWMA) for the October/November polar bear season in Churchill. This prime location of the Great White Bear managed lodge is located in an area where polar bears migrate to and from a peninsula that juts into the Hudson Bay. Polar bears amble into the lodge area and often set up resting beds in the willows that surround the lodge. We can’t wait to see the wildlife action out there this season. Enjoy!

Thanks Great White Bear

We would like to send a big thank you to Great White Bear Tours of Churchill for taking groups of travelers out in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area to view wildlife and especially polar bears. Their spectacular polar rovers keep groups from Natural Habitat Adventures safe and warm while viewing active polar bears across the tundra as well as other Arctic wildlife. They also supply loads of current incredible images from the Churchill region like this healthy polar bear from yesterday. The group also spotted a caribou out on the land. We are all looking forward to the upcoming polar bear season in October!

Churchill Photo of the Week

Dorota Walkoski of Great White Bear Tours captured this harbinger of spring image in Churchill. Caribou, snow geese and Canada geese fill the landscape and feed on the bounty which the north provides this time of year! Bountiful Churchill summer will be upon us soon and avid explorers will flock to town for birding excursions, beluga whale charters and tundra exploring in search of fox, polar bears, Arctic hare and even wolves. This summer on the Hudson Bay is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in recent years. Stay posted for all the news and photos from the north!
