As the sun was just about setting, this awesome shot of the inukshuk behind the town complex was captured by Great White Bear Tour’s Dorota Walkoski. The northern lights are just emerging through the beautiful blue veil of daylight and the iconic Churchill landmark evolves into a picturesque scene. Aurora season is going strong in the north!

Natural Habitat Adventures and Great White Bear Tours operate one of the most incredible wildlife viewing spots on Earth. Tundra Lodge camp Manager Jason Luoma, who by the way, manages Natural Habitat’s Greenland Base Camp as well, took these photos over the past few years. The first pic, sleeping bear, is from this week. The view from the lodge is so serene and breathtaking that polar bears become just part of the landscape…especially when they are sleeping. Photographers and wildlife enthusiasts come to this place for unimaginable chances to capture polar bears and other Arctic wildlife in action. And, most times expectations are exceeded beyond belief!

Great White Bear and Anything Custom has done it again. They created this mini monster ATV, “Sherpa”, with a top speed of 28mph on land and 3.8mph in the water. The Walkoski crew is testing it out as they drive to Churchill. They left Gillam late last night and we will update you on the journey as soon as we hear. The machine will be used throughout the year but mainly during the polar bear season in October and November in Churchill.
This new mean machine was built/modified by Great White Bear Tours at their Winnipeg shop, Anything Custom. They have just trekked from Winnipeg to Churchill with some valuable cargo. Mission completed!
Northern tree line underneath the stars and swash of the northern lights in Churchill. Lindsey Bell photo.
Great White Bear Tours shuttle driver Lindsey Bell took this rugged portrayal of the phenomenal Churchill northern lights with her last Natural Habitat Adventures group of the season. Lindsey worked tirelessly all season to insure Nat Hab travelers and their leaders had the most exciting and rewarding northern experiences of their lives. We look forward to our next adventures in the not so far off Churchill Northern Summer trips. Enjoy!
