Churchill Video of the Week – Northern Lights Time-lapse

Polar bear season is next up for avid travelers and Arctic enthusiasts heading to Churchill. However, this video time-lapse from Natural Habitat Adventures guide Brad Josephs gives us a sneak preview to the incredibly popular northern lights season beginning in January and continuing through March. The aurora borealis have been phenomenal over the past few years and there’s no better place in the north to see them than Churchill! This season should be one of the best ever!

Churchill Photo of the Week – Inuvik Aurora

The excitement leading up to another surreal and other – worldly northern lights season in Churchill is always a fun time. Only a few years ago, very few people ventured north to view the spectacular aurora borealis light show. Now, this year Natural Habitat Adventures alone will send nearly 200 people to Churchill over the course of two months to sample the northern spirit and take in the most incredible show above the Arctic. This shot from a little further north in Inuvik is just a preview of what’s to come in January in Churchill! Keep posted for all the news from the north.

Churchill Polar Bear Stats – Last Week

Polar bear numbers for the past week were fairly consistent for this time of year. Looks like Manitoba Conservation is clearing the jail in preparation for the upcoming polar bear season in Churchill starting in a couple of weeks. Should be another exciting wildlife bonanza with incredible polar bear action in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area!
