Natural Habitat Aurora Pod Gets New Heater

After last year’s cold temperatures in the heart of northern lights season permeated the Aurora Pod, Great White Bear Tours and Natural Habitat Adventures collaborated to install a new heater to supplement the ambient pellet stove. The new diesel heater is the same one found on all of Great White Bear’s polar rovers and should allow for a quite comfortable experience even in the deepest cold of winter. Can’t wait to see how it performs while the fantastic aurora borealis glimmers above by the Hudson Bay coast!

Churchill Video of the Week – Northern Lights

Keeping with our weekly northern lights videos, this one is from Norway where spectacular aurora borealis can be seen! Less than two months remain before Natural Habitat Adventures begins another magical northern lights season in Churchill. It will be tough to match all the amazing experiences and light shows from last season though you know we are going to try our best. Keep posted for all the images, videos and news from the great white north! Enjoy.

Northern Lights Drone Video

Here’s some tremendous drone footage of northern lights in Reykjanes Iceland..Natural Habitat Adventures is gearing up for another spectacular Churchill northern lights season starting in January. If this season is anything like last season we are in for another wild and amazing ride. The incessant aurora borealis captivated travelers last year as they enjoyed the show from the Aurora Pod or Aurora Domes on the outskirts of the sleepy frontier town on the shores of the Hudson Bay. The Churchill skies have been lighting up the northern lights thrill meter at an incredible rate all year long. However, the three month prime season is truly sensational. We are very excited to see what mystical happenings occur this winter in Churchill!

Churchill Video of the Week – Aurora

This week’s video comes directly from Churchill..hot off the press, rather camera. Natural Habitat Adventures Churchill office staff member Joel Moore filmed this unique angle time lapse of some pretty awesome northern lights a few days ago. The scene is near the inukshuk behind the town complex. Very rarely does Churchill experience aurora with these kind of clouds moving below. The effect is pretty cool and inspiring for hopes for another outstanding northern lights season commencing in January. It will be tough to top last year’s explosive displays of aurora borealis though we hope to make a run at it! Enjoy.
