Another classic “end of polar bear season” photo from the Churchill tundra. Katie de Meulles captured this one as another memorable season come to and end. Churchillpolarbears.org hopes that the momentum of polar bear season will continue on for Churchill and soon finds a solution to the Hudson Bay Rail line crisis. Best wishes to all Churchillians for the holiday season and impending good news surrounding the sale of the Port of Churchill!
Wishing all the mothers in the world a happy and memorable Mother’s Day from all of us at Churchillpolarbears.org! Enjoy!
The abundance of exhilarating art in the north has necessitated a periodic new posting on Churchillpolarbears.org. We will feature different stories of artists and their art that is prolific all over the Arctic and sub – Arctic. This week’s feature is this amazing found – object art metal horse known as the Whitehorse horse as it’s at the top of Two Mile Hill in Whitehorse,YT created by artist Daphne Mennell and welder Roger Poole. The sculpture is made from donated recycled materials and was dedicated in 2011.
We wish everyone a very happy Valentines day from Churchillpolarbears.org! Enjoy the day with the special bears ..er people in your lives!
We posted these awesome red fox action images earlier today on our Churchill Polar Bears Facebook page and thought we should open up the exposure to churchillpolarbears.org fans. These two sequential and amazing red fox pics were taken by Great White Bear Tours in Churchill. Many photographers spend years trying to get the fox diving into snow to capture a lemming or rodent of some sort. Soon travelers from all over will arrive in Churchill and have a chance to get their own red fox shots under the magical northern lights!
