Photos from the Arctic never get old and always have a little different light that we haven’t seen before. The silence in many of these shots is palpable and permeates the frame. These are taken by various photographers around the north and are some of the best of the year! Enjoy!
Some iconic images from the north look like they could be from past centuries. Not much in the landscape or the clothing has changed. The timelessness of the Arctic culture and setting will endure for a long time to come. With all the recent changes in Churchill, the land and the aura of the frontier town remain timeless. We hope the wildlife and especially the dynamic Hudson Bay polar bear population.
Great news and cause for celebration in the north and Churchill especially! Everyone is tremendously excited to see that train rolling into Churchill with the whistle blaring!

Summer is winding down in the north and the action has been relentless with the usual incredible Churchill summer highlights. The polar bears have been wandering the rocky Precambrian coast of the Hudson Bay and Churchill River and belugas have posed for shots like these above for the entire summer. We can’t get enough of the awesome scenic vistas near the coast and inland along rocky tundra. Another summer in the north with the wildlife one only dreams of! These images from Reinhard Mink are just a sample of the wildlife wonders of Churchill!
